Because of Jesus’ unconditional love and compassion, Mary Magdalene responded with dependence upon God: a selfless passion for love, caring, and giving. The church responded with dependence upon human nature: self-interest, control, and violence. Pay careful attention to what is going on around you today as some religious groups have regressed to the same dependence upon human nature.
