Head Elder:  John Hall

John Hall is the very busy and versatile head elder of our church since our Pastor Stephen McCandless is only with us part-time. John loves preparing and presenting thought-provoking sermons. He considers the Bible to be the most important book he has ever—and continues to—read. He also enjoys worshiping through music and supporting his church family in serving our community to create relationships now and through eternity.

John is married to Marlys, his sweetheart of 13 years, has 10 grandchildren with another on the way, and six step-grandchildren. He has lived in the Wood River Valley for about 25 years.

A former teacher with particular interest in history and talent in art, John now works as a construction superintendent. It is a priority for him to be in direct and timely communications with the clients through every step of the project. He highly values being trustworthy and builds ongoing relationships with each client family and construction sub-contractors. 

He and Marlys are always looking forward to their next road trip or flight to visit distant family.
